On December 7, 2021, the Lloydminster Regional Health Foundation held its largest fundraising event ever with a goal of $500,000. During the Gift to Health Digital Livestream, 24 participants ran on their treadmills for 12 hours straight, all while being watched by a live virtual audience.

The funds raised went towards essential medical equipment, according to CEO Malcolm Radke “The two most critical pieces of equipment are the Mobile C-arm and the Mobile Digital Radiography. So essentially what those two items do, they make our Imaging Department mobile and versatile to travel throughout the hospital. So as opposed to needing to wheel patients down to the Imaging Department and then sending them back to the medical floor.”

Equipment such as these help to get patients the care they need faster, which helps to free up temporary beds and lighten the burden on the healthcare system.
